RADELAIDE ASSEMBLE @wethegriswolds

You’ve heard them on Triple J - their track “The Courtship of Summer Preasley” has been on high rotation of late, and they are getting recognition from across the globe. They won the Triple J Unearthed Big Day Out competition which saw them take to the stage at Sydney BDO, where a cast of thousands braved sweltering 45 degree conditions just to see them play. And now, the Griswolds are coming to Adelaide as part of their Courtship of Summer Preasley tour.

Where? Ed Castle

When? April 27

Tickets? $13.30 - you can purchase them online - click here - or you can grab them at the door on entry.

This is a great opportunity for Adelaide music lovers to embrace new sounds and new bands.

They’re back in all their glory.

I have tuned out from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs over the last few years. But driving to work this morning, Triple J did me the hugest favour by bringing Karen O and the gang back into my life. It took about 15 seconds into the song for me to fall back in love with them.

This is Sacrelige, their new beat. It’s amazing in every way. Welcome back into my life YYYs.

Ergh. Valentines Day.

It is only fitting for any pop culture enthusiast and social media participant to at least mention or commentate once on the blessed “event” that is Valentines Day.

Aaah love. A day to celebrate long term relationships, a day to make questionable or budding relationships awkward, a day to tell that secret crush how you really feel…

But what about the rest of them?! (and by them, I mean, us - I’m with you buddies) The poor relationship and love outcasts who are single against their will. Or perhaps at their will. But just single in general. What about the poor innocent girls who have been screwed over by a sack/douchebag or ten in the last few months!? WHAT ABOUT THEM!?

There will be a lot of love song dedications on this day. Hell, MaxTV has done a count down of the top 100 love songs of all time.

So, to even the playing field a bit, I thought I would dedicate my valentines post/video to some of the lonely hearts out there.

Wedding Singer - Love Stinks

Sticky Fingers - Willow Tree

Here’s something I haven’t done for a while! I know a lot of my readers are often on the hunt for new beats to freshen up their iPods. Unfortunately for these people, of late, I’ve been indulging significantly in music that is either a few years or months old. But with the surge of music and artists coming through post Hottest 100 countdown, and post-festival-mania, I thought I would take the opportunity to publicise the playlist on high rotation on my ipod at this very moment.

Enough of my shitty ramble, without further ado, I give to you:
